Simple & Cute

Saw Prometheus tonight! Wanted to keep it simple, it's ridiculously humid and summer is just at it's start. Any kind of heat requires me to have my hair up, so my friend Patricia, along with recent tv/movie badass female leads (The Evil Queen in Snow White, Daenerys/Sansa from Game of Thrones, and Katniss from Hunger Games) all inspired me to do more with my braids. I've been youtubing different braid styles and have a few more up my sleeve, but I found this one to be particularly great for surviving the heat.

Spring & Summer Must Haves: Part 2

Ok guys I'm going to tell you a little secret... I get MOST of my accessories from Ardene. I know, I know, it's that place we all went to as teens to get funky gummy bracelets and crazy sunglasses, even now they randomly have teen clothing but I'm telling you they have really upped their game. Every time I go in there I come out with some crazy good finds. Best of all is that this place is cheap as fuck! They have year round deals like 5 hair accessories for $10. They also have sales on other things like 2 wallets for $10, 2 pairs of shoes for $20, and on and on. This is my lot from last week, as you can see I took advantage of most of the sales. Not pictured but I got some MINT GREEN FLATS! <3

Spring & Summer Must Haves: Part 1

The first biggest Must Have on any fatshionistas list this spring/summer is anything floral. I've found some fantastic additions to any floral lovers wardrobe from the plus size ladies clothing catalogue sizes 12-32 brought to you by Marisota. They are ridiculously spot on with their wide range of trendy floral selections ranging from swimwear (!) to very pretty bras.

My second Must Have is updated staple pieces. Staples pieces can really be worn year-round so, It's really important to find some nice basics that are a little updated. Here I've found a nice classic tunic: it's the mint green color that adds a little something extra and current. Same goes with the black dress, the lace sleeves and pleating detail make it stand out just enough to have ready and waiting for any occasion.

Want more? Don't worry, I'll be back later this week with some Must Have Accessories!

Expose Your Shape With Simply Yours!

It's wedding season!

Every spring it seems that I get invited to just about a million weddings. The request of styles can range from dressy and classy or cool and casual. One of my rules for whatever type of wedding is : look fly and feel comfortable! This usually means a dress of some sort. Dealing with wedding attire to me also means finding some good support, and yes, more often than none some nice fitting shapewear.

I've browsed through my local stores but nothing seems to look that good, meaning BORING. Even though I'm going to be wearing it under my clothing,  I still want it to look and feel sexy while still having loads of support. Believe me, support is important when you're standing for hours on end at one of those oh-so-lovely long church services, and hey shapewear is known to give you a little extra umph!

As you all know I've been browsing the net like a fiend recently and came across a site called Simply Yours, a brand from Simply Be! How excited I was to find out that Simply Be has a whole sister website designated just for underwear sizes 14-32. Underwear meaning: Lingerie, Bras, Nightwear, and the most BEAUTIFUL Body Shaping Underwear

It seems that Simply Yours has teamed up with Gok Wan, a British television personality and fashion consultant for the job of designing some of the shapewear. No wonder these are some of the most attractive pieces I've ever seen.

Now it hardly matters if you are going as a guest to the wedding or part of the bridal party, HELL - even the bride herself, these slinky sassy supportive numbers will make any lady feel special. These pieces are designed to show off and bring out YOUR shape

Something Fresh... Simply Be!

Hello lovlies!

As you know I'm always on the hunt for new places to shop, and finding new stores as of late has been an issue for me. We all know the basics, but for me… that's just not enough anymore.

Thankfully I've found a new favourite shop: Simply Be. This UK store finally has a .com for all the USA fashion hunters. Simply Be has a fantastic range of trends and basics with a flair of originality  - How perfect?! Simply Be's range of plus size clothing is not only stunning, but extremely ready to wear.

My favourite trends right now are "retro floral with a bit of edge or hippy". Crazy, right? But it seems to be blowing up, and I for one am dying to get my chubby little hands on some very specific pieces.

It's no secret I'm obsessed with dresses. Simply Be's collection will blow your mind. Gorgeous Maxi's perfect for summer and short adorable indie prints that will have you begging fore more... luckily they have quite the selection.

I've also found some nice and simple - but on trend tops, which is actually hard to find. Tops for me are either too much or not enough, Simply Be's married the two quite harmoniously. Don't even get me started but yes, my girls, they have added coloured denim jeans to the mix. I just about fainted with joy, especially since I noticed they come in green <3

The swimwear collection is quite original too, I've loved to have had that stripped number in my beach bag last year, it's just so classic AND edgy. You guys should really check out EVERY section of this store because it's pretty staked up with style and you WILL find something you fall in love with. Best thing is, if it's your first visit you get 30% off a $100 order. (CODE: 3673 )Amazing.

Anyways you can tell I'm super in love with this site and whether you are just now hearing about it or it's old news you should really go check out the new items for the season, you will be blown away. <3

Capitol Citizen Luna

Outfit Post March 23rd 2012

When I fangirl, I fangril hard. My newest obsession is "The Hunger Games."

The Hunger Games
is a young adult novel written by Suzanne Collins. It was first published on September 14, 2008, by Scholastic, in hardcover.[1] It is written in the voice of sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive.

When I first read the book I was immediately hooked. Now the first instalment of the trilogy has been made into a movie, and it's finally here! I usually attend midnight screenings of my favorite book-to-movie premiers (like HP)  because of the crowds; the feeling of anticipation and excitement with a room full of like-minded fandom. Some people choose to dress for the night or simply have a token from the franchise. I chose to dress as a Capitol citizen simply viewing the games.

"Style and fashion are very important to the aristocratic citizens of the Capitol. It is common for them to tattoo and dye their bodies, as well as undergo plastic surgery to alter their appearances. Capitol residents also frequently wear wigs in a multitude of colors. The other districts think the people from the Capitol are both different and odd. Partly because the districts (other than District 1) have no sense of fashion"
