Just Another Autumn Day

If you guys can recall last year there was a really nice mustard skater dress at Evans, I missed the boat on that one so I was thrilled to see one on sale at ASOS. I really wanted to pair this ASOS dress with some black knee socks but my room is a mess and I couldn't find them for the life of me.

What really makes this outfit special is the spiked collar - spikes are really making a comeback this year. I have hundreds of gold and sliver spikes I ordered online lying around, not quite sure what item of clothing I want to wreak havoc on just yet. I bought this particular collar from Gracelizabetty, unfortunately It was too small for my fat neck. I quickly found a way around it by cutting the back in half and adding some ribbon. Nothing like a little DIY.

Capitol Citizen Luna

Outfit Post March 23rd 2012

When I fangirl, I fangril hard. My newest obsession is "The Hunger Games."

The Hunger Games
is a young adult novel written by Suzanne Collins. It was first published on September 14, 2008, by Scholastic, in hardcover.[1] It is written in the voice of sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive.

When I first read the book I was immediately hooked. Now the first instalment of the trilogy has been made into a movie, and it's finally here! I usually attend midnight screenings of my favorite book-to-movie premiers (like HP)  because of the crowds; the feeling of anticipation and excitement with a room full of like-minded fandom. Some people choose to dress for the night or simply have a token from the franchise. I chose to dress as a Capitol citizen simply viewing the games.

"Style and fashion are very important to the aristocratic citizens of the Capitol. It is common for them to tattoo and dye their bodies, as well as undergo plastic surgery to alter their appearances. Capitol residents also frequently wear wigs in a multitude of colors. The other districts think the people from the Capitol are both different and odd. Partly because the districts (other than District 1) have no sense of fashion"

I'm a very strong believer that sexuality is ours to explore, so when I found out there was a show that combined erotica and art I was so there. I went with fellow bloggers Courtney & Sarah and made a day of it, even getting dressed up since it was also someone's 25th birthday. The fair was held at the Gladstone, an artful boutique hotel I actually have been wanting to stay in for years. While we didn't stay overnight we did spend a few hours talking with the artists and buying some beautiful items.

Chinatown Cheap

Outfit Post Mid Jan 2012

It's currently my favorite weather: cold. So cold, in fact, I had to buy a hat since my face was going to freeze off. Of course I ended up purchasing a new spirit hoodie in chinatown for like $20 (real spirit hoods are $100+!)

These biker boots from Lane Bryant are holding up extremely nice this winter, pretty perfect traction and style. I kinda went a little "sophisticated goth" today sans animal hat with this peter-pan stripped collar sweater dress + cross ring + leather jacket. Kinda love it. I miss being a goth.

Do The Dots

Outfit Post Jan 2012

This dress from ASOS is pretty much a staple in my wardrobe. It's light, fun, easy and it looks good with minimal effort. I just threw on some leggings which are my new favorite from Torrid. They are basic black and my size ranges from a 3-5 which translates really to a 24-30 since the stretch is so generous. These vintage inspired sunglasses that I ADORE just came in the mail on Thursday so I've been dying to wear them out. It's always a good day when you look cute, receive packages in the mail, and eat a burrito. Have a good weekend dolls!
