Simple & Cute

Saw Prometheus tonight! Wanted to keep it simple, it's ridiculously humid and summer is just at it's start. Any kind of heat requires me to have my hair up, so my friend Patricia, along with recent tv/movie badass female leads (The Evil Queen in Snow White, Daenerys/Sansa from Game of Thrones, and Katniss from Hunger Games) all inspired me to do more with my braids. I've been youtubing different braid styles and have a few more up my sleeve, but I found this one to be particularly great for surviving the heat.

Capitol Citizen Luna

Outfit Post March 23rd 2012

When I fangirl, I fangril hard. My newest obsession is "The Hunger Games."

The Hunger Games
is a young adult novel written by Suzanne Collins. It was first published on September 14, 2008, by Scholastic, in hardcover.[1] It is written in the voice of sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive.

When I first read the book I was immediately hooked. Now the first instalment of the trilogy has been made into a movie, and it's finally here! I usually attend midnight screenings of my favorite book-to-movie premiers (like HP)  because of the crowds; the feeling of anticipation and excitement with a room full of like-minded fandom. Some people choose to dress for the night or simply have a token from the franchise. I chose to dress as a Capitol citizen simply viewing the games.

"Style and fashion are very important to the aristocratic citizens of the Capitol. It is common for them to tattoo and dye their bodies, as well as undergo plastic surgery to alter their appearances. Capitol residents also frequently wear wigs in a multitude of colors. The other districts think the people from the Capitol are both different and odd. Partly because the districts (other than District 1) have no sense of fashion"

Outfit Post: Fatshion Feb 7th

Boy do I really love welovecolors.com. These fantastic red tights came just in time to rock out at The Kills concert I attended with the lovely Courtney from theglitterthread.blogspot.com. I was so excited that these fit my fat thighs with room to spare. Just like the majority of girls over the size of 24, I too have a serious problem finding a good pair of tights. They are either too saggy, don't fit the thighs or waist. These really fit me nicely and didn't sag anywhere, I was especially happy when I didn't have to fidget with them during the concert, I was seriously comfortable, which is pretty high on my outfit priority list.
